We believe when courage and calling meet the right resources, communities are transformed.

Across the country, nonprofit organizations serving women and girls are doing extraordinary work in the areas of safety, stability, economic mobility, and family support. Yet many operate with limited access to sustainable funding and the systems they need to thrive.

Inspired by the courage and strategic wisdom of Esther, we help mission-driven leaders bridge the gap between their vision and the funding required to achieve it.

Esther, the advocate

Strategic. Courageous. Called.

Queen Esther was an advocate who turned a moment of peril into a legacy of protection.

The Esther Commission honors that legacy by equipping modern-day advocates with the funding and strategy they need to transform their communities.

We believe your mission deserves the same royal standard of excellence and support.

Meet the Team

Mikayla Llanos

founder and ceo | Strategic Advocate

“I believe the world’s most impactful work should never be limited by a lack of resources. Like Esther, we are called to move with courage and strategy to ensure that those standing in the gap have everything they need to succeed.”

Mikayla Llanos is the Founder and CEO of The Esther Commission, a philanthropic advisory firm dedicated to equipping leaders with the strategy & funding required to fulfill their calling.

With more than two decades of leadership in nonprofit development, capital campaigns, and philanthropic partnerships, Mikayla serves as an advocate for organizations working with women and girls. She has worked to secure transformational investments for grassroots nonprofits and large scale institutions alike, always focusing on the “royal standard” of excellence required for long term impact.

Her work is centered on alignment and ensuring an organization’s goals, its people, and its funding are all moving in the same direction. A Denver-metro resident, Mikayla is driven by the conviction that every faith-based nonprofit is called for such a time as this, and deserves both a seat at the table and the financial backing to stay there.

Throughout her career, Mikayla has led multi-million-dollar fundraising initiatives and advised executive boards, developing the funding strategies that expand opportunity and protection for women, families, and communities.
